At the moment I have no exhibitions but paintings can always be viewed by appointment.

"Irises 9" oil on cotton duck 45" x 24" £300.

Harvest fields. wild poppies, mallow hedges all have an important place in my work.

Near my Exmoor home is Dunster Beach and from the fields behind the beach there are horizontals of colour toward the sea, source of some of the work. The developing 'Bales' series have mainly been painted in the fields overlooking the Bristol Channel. Further along the Bristol Channel are fields which look over the sea toward Steep Holm. The colours, textures and forms in the seascape and landscape of this particular part of West Somerset inspire much of the painting work.

The fields behind Dunster Beach, at Briddicott Farm in Carhampton and further along at Parsonage Farm above Watchet have been the settings for many of the oilseed rape and harvest paintings. I started painting straw bales a few years ago at Bickham Farm looking toward Dunkery Beacon, but the 'Bales' series proper started at sunrise on a field behind Dunster Beach and has continued in that coastal strip of the Bristol Channel.

There is so much to inspire an artist in this rich and beautiful part of Exmoor. For a 'plein air' painter the weather in the West Country can be rather daunting, particularly in the wet winters, when I often put away my brushes and go with my pencils and charcoal in search of a friendly farmer's sheep and lambs tucked away out of the elements.
